Some Stewart Laughs

How about Sally eating a lemon and loving it! She ate every corner of it!! With a few faces here and there.....We call her our "garbage disposal"...she eats anything!
Or how about me walking in Wesley Grant's room only to find him asleep on the bed with sally's sunglasses on....guess he couldn't find his. The light was still on, maybe it was just a little bright for the kid....

Planning Tomorrows and Living Todays

For the past 5 days, I have been sick. We think it is the Rotavirus, but will confirm it tomorrow with the doctor. It is not fun. Beware! They have vaccines now for kids, so our children didn't get it. Thank goodness! It is a bad GI virus that lays you out! Stew has taken care of the kids and is still going strong! I am so thankful for him.

I've had much time to lay and wonder, what good can come from all of this? We've also had many of our friends in the past week be diagnosed with cancer. Many of them in situations where you can't imagine that they could continue ahead. I've been thankful for the time to pray for them.

The loss of control over my week, appointments and plans has shown me how i think way more about my tomorrows than my todays. I take pride in my planner and plan to the hill...months ahead...expecting it all to happen and become just as i have planned. But is that what life is about? Planning the tomorrows? Or is it more about living the todays? Praying for today? No one plans a sickness, a death, loss of job or to drop everything and spend time with a parent sticken with cancer not knowing what the tomorrow holds. There is something that happens within us when we are faced with the strong reality - Life isn't about our plans or our control over it. And it is often, only in those moments that interupt our plans that we find the today and life's greater meanings.

i'm finding (very slowly) that planning, preparing and running isn't something to pride myself in. The days are the Lords and He does as He wills. ( The LORD does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths Psalm 135:6, Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21)

It has been good for me to be stopped in one of the busiest weeks this summer. I hope that I can begin to pray more than plan. My heart is drawn to know how to live my todays rather than plan my tomorrows. I am such a slow learner...

Mathew 6:34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." 1 Thessalonians 5:17 "pray continually"
